INDIGO HARD CASHMERE

In particular, cashmere fiber is often associated with luxury materials for clothing.
In order to use this delicate and precious material, it is usually assumed that it is lightweight and minimalist.
Recently, there have been some cashmere products with a sense of weight, but they are expensive.

If we wanted to pursue a more physical reality, we wanted to create a practical garment that could embody richness (including texture) without losing its identity as a cashmere material. I thought it would be even more interesting if I could add a rational accent to it.

This time, after strengthening the TWIST at the yarn stage, we knit the fabric with a higher density to prevent fluffing and create a seasonless fabric with a dry touch despite being cashmere (although it is not suitable for mid-summer).
After the producted, it is washed by hand in water at AULICO‘s studio in Kyushu.
This gives the fabric a chance to release its tension. Unlike wool, cashmere fibers have fewer cuticles and do not felt when washed, so the texture and shrinkage rate are stabilized here.

The indigo TYEDYE that follows is a very traditional technique, but also a unique accent.
